New Shoe Shine Stand Unveiled Following Taxi Cab Accident

|

Nearly eight months after a shoe shine stand was crushed when a Taxi Cab crashed into it, the stand has re-opened with the help of volunteers. As we reported in an earlier post, Cab Driver Seriously Injures Two Pedestrians, the shoe shine stand was demolished when a taxi jumped the curb and ran into the stand, on Sutter and Sansome streets, injuring the two workers and the cab driver.

An investigation at the time indicated that the driver may have suffered a medical condition. Questions remain concerning the factors behind the accident.

Now, with the help of volunteers and a local architecture firm, stand on Market Street has been rebuilt, hopefully allowing the workers to increase their business and rebuild their livelihood. We applaud the efforts of the community to help the men affected by this personal injury accident put their lives back together.
