George Ellard has been litigating over 30 years, the last 25 representing injured plaintiffs and their families. George began his law career defending medical professionals and gathered valuable experience understanding the defense perspective in medical malpractice cases. Since then, George has been handling matters involving professional malpractice, personal injury, products liability, dangerous conditions, premises liability, motorcycle, trucking, workplace and wrongful death cases. Over the years, George’s clients have suffered amputations, brain injuries, quadriplegia, paraplegia, spinal injuries, joint, bone and internal injuries and burns. In workplace injury matters, George litigates OSHA appeal trials before the California Administrative Law Court for clients to ensure responsible parties are accountable for their negligent acts. George has tried cases in both state and federal courts.
George graduated from the United States Naval Academy and served as a Surface Warfare Officer before graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law. After graduation from the Academy, George served as a French language teaching assistant at Annapolis, a Surface Warfare Officer on a Guided Missile Destroyer, and as the Officer-in-Charge of a military detachment with the Military Sealift Command. In law school, George received the USF Law School Student Bar Association Award for his work on the Maritime Law Journal, where he was the Business Editor.
George has earned the highest rating for professional ability and ethics (AV rated) by his peers at the rating service of Martindale-Hubbell. George has served as President of the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association and as a board member of the Consumer Attorneys of California.
George and his family enjoy travel, the ocean, golf, art and finding new experiences at San Francisco restaurants.
